- a long, long time ago.

What a day, Romans, what a day! Our beloved Republic, under the watchful guide of Augustus Caesar, has indeed turned a new leaf. It turns out that Caesarion, the so-called "king of kings", was simply another pawn in the grand political chess game that is the Roman Empire. (King of kings? More like king of making bad decisions, am I right?)

I say this with a heavy heart, for once upon a time, I bore no grudge against the young lad. But the apple, as they say, does not fall far from the tree, and in this case, the apple had the audacity to claim himself the rightful heir of our great Julius Caesar.

Now, before we dive into the meat of the matter, let's take a moment to appreciate our glorious leader - Augustus. This man has been the backbone of our grand Republic, even when he had to contend with the like of Antony and his manipulative Egyptian consort. As the dust settles on the battlefield, Augustus emerges victorious, his authority unchallenged, his reign now uncontested.

My fellow Romans, recall the moment when Antony decided to split Rome's territories with his offspring. As if Rome was a loaf of bread to be divided and shared! The audacity! And who were the recipients of these regions? None other than his children with Cleopatra! Oh yes, those apple-cheeked cherubs, half-Egyptian, half-Roman, entirely unsuited for Roman leadership.

As for Caesarion, the boy who dared to claim Julius Caesar's name, he has been condemned rightfully so. (Remember, folks, being a Caesar doesn’t mean one can Caesar the throne. It takes more than a pedigree to rule Rome)

Do not mistake this as a rejoice over the misfortune of children. This is, indeed, a celebration of the enduring power and wisdom of Rome. It is a reinforcement of our democracy, our Republic, and our traditional Roman values.

Rome is not a prize to be won, nor is it a toy to be divided amongst spoilt offspring. It is our home, our heritage, and our future. It requires a leader who is of Rome, for Rome, and by Rome.

So here's to Augustus Caesar – the man who didn’t just talk the talk but walked the walk - successfully axing Antony’s ill-thought plans and condemning Caesarion. His actions resonate with true Roman spirit - reinforcing that our eternal city will not bow down to foreign influences nor will it be divided by the whims and fancies of power-hungry individuals.

This, my fellow Romans, is a new chapter in our history. Let's raise a cup of our finest wine to the reign of Augustus - to the undying spirit of Rome.

Cheers! May Rome
