Barbarian Invasion: Our Togaed Tradition or Their Barbaric Future?

- a long, long time ago.
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears! Or rather, your eyes, for we're in the written medium here.
The barbarians are at the gate. Literally. As I write this, the Northern frontier is under siege. Yes, just when you thought it was safe to go back to the vineyard, the barbarians have decided to take a vacation in our beautiful empire. How wonderfully cosmopolitan of them!
I've heard talk from the trendy left of the Senate about "cultural exchange". They speak of the wonders of fresh ideas and innovation. I must be mistaken, I didn't realize that looting, pillaging, and burning down our granaries were considered "innovative" these days.
Oh, but wait. Perhaps they're referring to the barbarian's unique approach to fashion. The toga, it seems, is no longer en vogue. Instead, we are to embrace the latest trend: unwashed fur, unkempt beards, and the distinct aroma of a wild boar. Toga, meet toga-less. How chic.
I ask, where are our traditional Roman values in all this? The sense of duty, honor, and loyalty that built this great empire is being replaced by the foreign concept of "might makes right". We must remember that we are Romans, not some rabble rousers from the North!
It's high time that we stop idling on our laurels and remind these invaders of our might. It's not arrogance, it's a simple fact.
Rome is more than just a city, it is an idea. It's the concept of civilization, order, and rule of law. These are not principles to be trampled on by some uncouth invaders. They are the core of what it means to be Roman.
So, I say it's time we rally behind our legions. Give them our support, be it with sword or scroll. Let's show these barbarians that we are not just toga-wearing wine-drinkers, but a force to be reckoned with. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day, and it certainly won't be taken in one either.
Remember, when in Rome, do as the Romans do. And last time I checked, we Romans do not surrender.
As always, I am your humble servant,
Clickbaiticus Historius, defender of traditional Roman values, and your guide through the chaos. Valete!
